Cindy Howell Takes Time 4 Hemp

A Guiding Light in Psychedelic Medicine and Cannabis Advocacy

In the ever-expanding world of psychedelic and plant medicine, few figures stand out as brightly as Reverend Cynthia Howell. A dedicated psychedelic medicine facilitator, educator, and advocate, Howell has spent over 15 years working at the crossroads of cannabis, healing, and spirituality. Her journey, marked by personal transformation, deep empathy, and unwavering commitment, has made her a beacon for those seeking alternative healing paths through medical cannabis and psychedelic therapies.

A Personal Journey of Healing and Transformation

Cynthia Howell’s advocacy is deeply personal. Having faced trauma and addiction firsthand, she found solace and healing through plant medicine. Cannabis played a pivotal role in her sobriety, helping her regain control over her life, while psychedelic medicines such as psilocybin, iboga, 5-MeO-DMT, NN-DMT, Hapé, Kambo, and cacao deepened her spiritual and emotional healing. These experiences ignited her passion for guiding others through their own journeys of self-discovery and recovery.

Her work is not just about medicine - it is about integration. Howell emphasizes the importance of spiritual and psychological preparation before engaging with psychedelics, as well as the vital process of integration afterward. Her heart-centered approach ensures that those she works with feel supported, seen, and empowered in their healing process.

Advancing the Cannabis and Psychedelic Landscape

Howell’s impact extends far beyond individual healing sessions. Over the years, she has worn many hats within the cannabis and psychedelic industries - patient advocate, dispensary manager, educator, and product reviewer. Her expertise has shaped the industry, from developing award-winning cannabis-infused chocolates to running programs that delivered cannabis-based medicines and essential supplies to patients in need during the pandemic.

Her commitment to plant medicine education is evident in her media work with the PACE Radio Network, where she continues to spread awareness about medical cannabis and psychedelic therapy. Through PACE News and the Mushie Moment, she offers insightful discussions that challenge prohibitionist narratives and inspire deeper understanding of the therapeutic potential of these medicines.

Psychedelic Facilitation and Training

Beyond advocacy and media, Howell has immersed herself in the study and practice of psychedelic facilitation. She completed the prestigious Synthesis Institute’s Psychedelic Practitioner Core Training - a rigorous 13-month program designed to prepare individuals to work in the psychedelic space with a research-backed, wisdom-rich, and somatically-informed approach.

In 2022, Howell took her training further, stepping into the role of medicine facilitator and sacred space holder. Learning from respected elders, mentors, and fellow practitioners, she earned certifications in cacao ceremony facilitation and 5-MeO-DMT facilitation. Her deep empathy, combined with extensive knowledge and lived experience, makes her an invaluable guide for those navigating the profound and sometimes challenging terrain of plant medicine experiences.

She further honed her skills through the Synthesis Institute’s Immersion and Practicum programs. The Immersion Experience provided her with over 40 hours of in-person training focused on psychedelic facilitation, while her Practicum brought her to the Paojilhuasca Amazonian Medicine Center in Paraíso, Maynas, Peru. There, she gained hands-on experience, working within indigenous healing traditions and deepening her understanding of plant-based therapies.

A Vision for the Future

Reverend Cynthia Howell’s work is a testament to the power of plant medicine to heal, transform, and liberate. At a time when the global hemp market is expanding and calls for medical cannabis legalization grow stronger, her advocacy is more important than ever. She envisions a world where industrial hemp is fully embraced as a sustainable resource, where cannabis is recognized for its vast medical benefits, and where psychedelics are destigmatized and integrated into therapeutic and spiritual practices.

Her mission is clear: to help others find their path to healing, to break down the barriers of prohibition, and to advocate for the full potential of plant medicines in improving human health and consciousness. Whether through public speaking, media work, hands-on facilitation, or one-on-one guidance, Cynthia Howell continues to be a leading voice in the fight for cannabis and psychedelic freedom.

As the movement toward ending industrial hemp prohibition and legalizing medical and recreational cannabis gains momentum, advocates like Cynthia Howell remind us that healing is not just personal - it’s revolutionary.

I got involved in the Hemp Movement in 1989 when I was hired by Jack Herer to run hiss office. I launched the cable television series ‘TIME 4 HEMP’ on January 5, 1991. Time 4 Hemp is the first TV series in the history of broadcasting to focus strictly on the topic of cannabis. This has given me the dubious honor of being ‘The Father Of Marijuana Television’.
